Description: An umbel of compact spherical heads sit atop thick, 2 to 5 feet stems.

Habitat: Stream banks and wet meadows.

Edibility/Toxicity: Though a member of the carrot family, ranger buttons are toxic to both humans and livestock.

Comments: Jetting umbel stems and uniformly round balls make ranger buttons a very photogenic wildflower against any backdrop.
