Description: Large, round, lightly ribbed petals surround a center of close green pistils in a bowl of yellow stamens.
Habitat: Rocky upper elevation slopes and flats near or next to receding snow lines.
Edibility/Toxicity:
Comments: The largest of the yellow buttercups, alpine buttercup flowers often obscure their own leaves. At times they are a welcome burst of color on what would seem uninhabitable rocky terrain.
